I wonder how much of my actions match my values. I imagine the honest
answer would be that it is impossible for my actions to not reflect my
true values, that happens automatically.
On the big scale, I think if you looked at my life, you would be able
to see the values that I consider most important; Jesus, Family,
Church, hard work, honesty, honor, respect, health, etc.
From a different perspective, what value makes it easy to spend hours
in front of a television, or to go weeks without spending quality time
in the word, or to not exercise for months...
I desire to have more of my life reflect the values that I hold closest
to my heart. I value the Word of God. What actions should be flowing
out of those values? I want my children to see that health and exercise
is a good thing, how can I communicate that value? I want the daily
actions of my life to flow out of the values that I'm choosing to feed.
I don't want the motivating factor for doing good things to be guilt,
but rather the result of who I am and who I want to become.
